Fine Motor Skills
Development entails the action of the arms, hands, wrist, and fingers to manipulate objects. FM skills are important skills needed in preschool before a child is asked to write.
Emotional and Social Skills
Are the abilities to interact with others manage one's feelings and behavior. Such as taking turns, sharing, developing problem solving skills, affection, empathy, helping and cooperating.
Cognitive Skills
Your child will develop creative expression, math, science, social studies and life skills. Cognitive process, children learn cause and effect, prior knowledge to new knowledge. Children will be offered a wide range of opportunities of learning. Logical reasoning, perception, schemes, attention and memory, problem solving, curiosity and exploration.
Gross Motor Skills
Your child GM skills, which involves the large muscles in arms, legs and torso. GM activities are important to everyday physical activities like walking, running, jumping, kicking etc. GM abilities are also the basis for FM skills and relate to the body awareness, action speed, balance and strength.
Approaches to Play Skills
Your child's years are filled with excitement and wonder. Children learn new skills to build upon their existing capabilities through a meaningful and exploratory play. Engaging in guided play fosters curiosity, joy, and self long learning. Such as role playing, pretending, making choices, try new experiences, engage in activities, practices to improve new skills, and works cooperatively with others.
Language and Literacy Skills
Your child will learn new vocabulary and build early literacy skills. Such as vocabulary with questions, phonics with sounds, letter recognition. Engaging activities in literacy will enhance language, cognitive, social and emotional skills.

About Me:
My journey began in 1993 as a Teacher Assistant in a special needs classroom—a role that shaped my heart and sparked my passion for education. I taught all levels as a substitute teacher for over 20 years, from Pre-K to 12th grade. I even opened my heart and home to nine incredible children through foster care—an experience that filled my life with love and purpose.
I served five years as a Pre-K Lead Teacher with the Georgia Lottery-funded program while also tutoring students online in grades K–8. My teaching philosophy has always been grounded in compassion, creativity, and a belief that every child learns differently—and that’s what SmartieKats is all about.
🎨 I love art, 🎶 music, and playing the piano. I have a soft spot for horror films, music, and a great book. When I’m not teaching, I’m usually spending time with my two cats and two dogs—my furry family members. I’ve been happily married for 39 years, and I’m a proud mom of four (two boys, two girls), three of whom serve in the military and one environmentalist, and grandma to eight wonderful grandchildren.

My child already spends a lot of time on screens. Does this replace the screen time?

How can online preschool be as effective as local preschool?
While the experience is different, Smartiekats Preschool Club has crafted a curriculum that harnesses the power of digital tools to boost learning. Our qualified teachers create content ensuring your child gets the benefits of traditional preschool, right at home.
I'm super busy. Do I need to supervise my child?
Smartiekats Preschool Club is designed for busy parents in mind. You or your child can just click PLAY! It's user-friendly, and the activities are crafted to keep your little one engaged on their own. Plus, it gives you some free time, knowing they're in a safe, educational space. Parental guidance is helpful in case of technical difficulty or help for logging on to the zoom. Students do not need any expensive toys, furnishings or other items. They do need well designed space that is safe for the student to do activities/projects. Depending on the age: Parental guidance is necessary incase student needs help with an activity with guidance. Such as gluing, cutting with scissors etc. There are no third party websites that will be used for the lessons or signing in for accounts. We do give parents notification if we do have live virtual trip and need permission from the parent.
Is Smartiekats Online Preschool easy to access?
Yes. As long as you have an internet connection, you can access it anytime, anywhere, on any device.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes.
The monthly tuition price is a reflection of the yearly tuition divided into convenient monthly payments for parents, so the monthly fee remains the same, regardless of holidays. There are no refunds or prorated months.
Do I need to buy supplies?
Some of our lessons in the curriculum is designed to be hands-on and self-contained within our preschool class each day so you don't have to buy any additional supplies. Occasionally, there are lessons that you would need to print out templates or instructions that will be sent to you that you can prepare your little one for the class activities or projects, it is helpful to have a printer. Some supplies also you might need that are simply around the house items will be needed. I try my best to keep it as simple as possible.

Yes, we do have local preschool in McDonough, GA. For ages 3.5 to 5 years old. We also do private homeschool for students (k-5) and enrichment program Spanish (online only) and Art (online or local).

Registration fee is due in advance. Tuition is due within seven days before class starts. Then monthly charges will be automatically taken out until canceled.
When registering online we only use stripe for payments. Call to register if not using stripe payment or email we will help you get registered.
