Family Tree

Draw a simple picture of a tree. Have your child think of or ask a family member to help paste their family member to the tree. They can display it at the fridge or take it to a close family member to display it. Later have the child think who lives faraway and who lives close.

Avoid a Meltdown

There are many families, and a family can be made of different types of people. Some children may be in foster care or have relative who is incarcerated or absent. Remember to be sensitive to these situations and adapt activities accordingly.

Discovery Science

Provide your child with animals and animal homes. Encourage the child to match the sets. Place a variety of real building materials, such as wood, brick, canvas, rocks, sand, or dirt. Encourage the child to explore the items with a magnifying glass. As questions whether they notice what is similar and what is different about the items. Also talk about different textures.

Our Preferred Teacher Would Have:
✔️ 1–2 years of classroom or solo preschool teaching experience
✔️ TCC, CDA, or some college credits in Early Childhood or Education (retired educators welcome!)
✔️ Fluent Spanish skills and confidence teaching young children
✔️ Strong skills in delivering fun, engaging lessons online
✔️ A flexible schedule — available during summer OR for a 10-month school year

Dear families,

This year, our class is excited to read with Scholastic Book Clubs! It’s a great way to build up your child’s book collection at home and help them improve their reading skills. And when you shop with Clubs, your orders earn points I can redeem for books and other classroom supplies we need.

Here’s how it works: I’ll send home flyers throughout the year. If you decide to place an order, you can do that through our class ordering page. Your books will arrive at school about 10 days after I submit our classroom order.

By teaming up with Scholastic, we’ll help your child become a more confident, independent reader—and we’ll build a classroom library all of my students are excited to explore!
